COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
SACK, SHIPPING, PAPER (REINFORCED)
This commercial item description, has been approved by the
General Services Administration.
1. SCOPE. This description covers reinforced paper sacks for shipping items weighing not more than 4.535 kg (10 pounds).
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1 Construction. Sacks shall be fabricated from water resistant, reinforced craft paper. The fabricated sacks shall pass the water resistance test and the impact resistance test.
2.3 Dimensions. Dimensions of the sacks shall be outside measurements, expressed as width by length. Dimensions shall be as specified with a tolerance of + 6.35 mm (+ 1/4”). Unless otherwise specified, sack opening shall be on the short side.
2.4 Workmanship. Sacks shall be uniformly constructed and free from holes, tears, cuts, splits, or other defects which might impair their usefulness. Sacks shall be free from sharp edges on the inside which might cause paper cuts to persons inserting or removing material.
