COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BAG, PAPER (BURN BAG)
The General Services Administration has authorized
the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This description covers paper bags with special identifying markings to be used for collecting and burning classified waste.
Classification. Bags shall be of the following styles, as specified (see Section 5).
Class 1 - With an identifying pattern of red and white stripes
Class 2 - With an identifying legend
1. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
A) Construction. Bags furnished under this description shall be made from paper which contains not less than 20 percent post consumer recovered material, as defined by 40 CFR Part 250. The Internal Tearing Resistance of the paper shall be as specified in
B) Style, Bag Number, and Capacity. Bags shall be self opening style. Bags shall be either commercial Bag Number 25 or commercial Bag Number 1/4 BBL, as specified (see Section 5). Capacities shall be as specified in Table I. Capacity shall be determined by multiplying overall height x face width x bottom width.
