COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BAG, PLASTIC (GARMENT)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This description covers plastic bags used as protective covers for garments after they have been dry cleaned.
1. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:
A) Construction. Bags furnished under this description shall be made from plastic tubing folded and sealed to make square style bags. A slit opening, not less than 64 mm (2-1/2 inches) long, centered to within + 13 mm (+ 1/2 inch), shall be made in the seal of each bag. The seal shall pass the Heat Sealed Seam test specified below. The bags shall be uniformly wound on a tube of not less than 76 mm (3 inches) inside diameter which is not less than 6 mm (1/4 inch) longer than the face width of bags. Not less than 3 mm (1/8 inch) of the tube shall extend beyond each side of the roll. Perforations shall be located between each bag to provide for easy separation of individual bags. The bags shall be printed every 406 to 508 mm (16 to 20 inches) with the following in characters not less than 10 mm (3/8 inches) high:
