COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BAG, PAPER (HOSPITAL BEDSIDE WASTE)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description by all Federal Agencies.
1. SCOPE. This commercial item description covers flame & moisture resistant paper bags with pressure sensitive adhesive attachment tabs. These bags are primarily designated for hospitals beside use. The bags shall be of the following types, as specified.
Type I - Moisture resistant
Type II - Moisture & heat resistant
2. SALIENT
CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1 Construction. Bags shall be formed with a lip not less than 13 mm wide across the entire width of the back face. Seams, made with a water resistant adhesive, shall be located on the back face and, if needed, on the bottom of the bags. Two pressure sensitive adhesive tabs shall be attached at the top of the back face with their center lines 85 + 15 mm apart. Each tab shall extend beyond the top edge of the bag to provide an area of not less than 325 mm2 for attaching the bag to horizontal surfaces. The adhesive in the attachment area shall be protected with an easily removable piece of release paper. Bags shall be no more than 2 months old when delivered to the Government.
