3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
3.1 Construction. Bags furnished under this description shall be made from plastic resin, modified as necessary so that the bags conform to the requirements of Table I below for the type of bag specified in the contract or order. Bags shall be formed and sealed so as to pass the Load Capacity and Seal Continuity Tests.

3.2 Dimensions. Unless otherwise specified, dimensions shall be designated as minimum face width X minimum overall height. Face width shall be defined as 50% of the circumference of the top edge of the bag.
3.3 Color. Unless otherwise specified, the bag shall be the natural color of the resin from which they are made.
3.4 Style. Unless otherwise specified, style shall be at the option of the contractor. When the seal length is less than the face width, the minimum overall height of the bag shall be increased by 0.16 times the difference in length between the face width and the seal length.
3.5 Load Capacity. Load capacity shall be as specified in the contract or order and shall be tested as specified in Section 5.3.1. Unless otherwise specified, full metal food cans weighing between 450g (1.0 pound) and 910g (2.0 pounds) each shall constitute the test load.
3.6 Seal Continuity. Seal continuity shall be tested as specified in Section 5.3.2.
